Dithiolene Complexes

Last Update: August 29, 2005

Use the procedure of Girolami et al.1 to prepare a complex of the dithiolene ligand.  You should try to prepare the Zn complex first to be sure that you can do it.  You may then try synthesize other complexes directly by substituting other redox-inactive divalent metals in place of Zn2+ (e. g., Pb2+) or by using the procedure given in the reference.
