Safety in the Chemical Laboratory

In accordance to the University’s Chemical Hygiene Plan everyone working in a chemical laboratory is required to abide by the safety regulations set forth on this web page. Failure to adhere to these regulations will result in expulsion from the laboratory.

ATTENTION CHEM 100, 120 AND 121 STUDENTS!  Your safety quiz, safety contract and policy contract are on Blackboard.  CHEM 100, 120 and 121 students must complete the checklist found on the Blackboard page for their course, which includes passing the safety quiz with a score of 100%.  The health form (on Blackboard and the link above) must be completed and returned to the chemistry laboratory manager in Magruder 1076.

 

All other chemistry students (in Quantitative Analysis, Organic, Physical, Instrumental Analysis, Inorganic and Biochemistry) are to follow the directions given by their instructors on how to complete the laboratory safety training for their course.
